L’INFLEXIBLE SSBN

The S-615 L’Inflexible submarine was the last built within the Le Redoubtable SSBN class, which were France’s first nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines. However, this submarine was designed to carry the new M-4 submarine launched ballistic missiles (SLBM), larger and superior in range and performance to the M-2 and M-20 SLBM missiles in service. Because of this and because it incorporated the most modern electronics, L’Inflexible boat was considered a class on its own.
