Currently, the Popeye still have a good range, typical of stand-off weapons, which allows the launch aircraft to stay away from the air defenses that usually protect high-value targets.

Australia purchased this missiles for their F-111 Aardvark aircrafts in the late 90s, (on the image). In 1997, Turkey signed a licensed manufacturing agreement for the Popeye and Popeye II missiles to equip their F-4 Phantom II “2020” and F-16 fighters.
