Patria NEMO 120mm

In 2005 the NEMO self-propelled mortar was presented. NEMO is the acronym for NEw MOrtar. The system is built by Patria Weapons Systems Oy from Finland, and consists in a lightweight version with single barrel mortar of the previous AMOS system built jointly with Alvis Hagglunds from Sweden. The NEMO mortar system lay out an unmanned turret that assembles a 120mm caliber self breech-loading mortar that can be mounted on a wide range of vehicles and boats. The maximum range is 10 km and has a firing rate of 10 rounds per minute for short periods of time. However, the sustained firing rate is around 7 rounds per minute. This system has been acquired by several countries as Saudi Arabia (36), Slovenia (12) and United Arab Emirates (12) to mounting them on land vehicles and patrol boats.
