AHS KRAB

AHS Krab is a last-generation self-propelled howitzer designed and manufactured by Polish companies to equip the Polish Army with a modern and effective system for the next decades. The Krab began its steps in 1997 with the start of a contest to obtain a turret with an artillery gun, and then, choose a chassis for the final assembly. The British AS-90M Braveheart’s turret was chosen and will be built under license in Poland, but it will be equipped with a German 155mm howitzer built by Rheinmetall. Finally, the South Korean K.9 Thunder self-propelled howitzer’s chassis has been the chosen one. The chassis is built by Samsung Techwin company, and 120 units will be produced until the year 2024 to provide five Artillery Regiments to the Polish Army.
