LVTR-7 / AAVR-7A1
In 1968, the FMC company presented the LVTR-X2 recovery vehicle prototype as part of the LVTP-7 amphibious carriers family. The series model would be designated as LVTR-7, (Landing Vehicle, Tracked, Recovery model 7), and it was the variant designed to give support to the damaged or stuck vehicles during landing operations. The LVTR-7 had an hydraulically-operated boom with a maximum lifting capacity of 4,300kg and a recovery winch of 13,500kg capacity with 85 meters of cable. This vehicle can also work as a mobile workshop, so it has a welding equipment, an AC electric generator and a complete toolkit. Like the rest of the LVTP-7 family, its designation changed after its Service Life Extension Program, made during the 80s, and since then it was designated as AAVR-7A1.
