GHAURI II
In 1999, the Indian authorities revealed they had ready the new Agni-II MRBM missile. Then, Pakistan reacted and decided to show its new Ghauri-II missile, of the same type as the Indian. The development of this missile began in 1993 between strict security measures and extreme secrecy. This missile was an improved version of the previous Ghauri-I, with much greater range and with a more powerful and accurate warhead. To gain accuracy, a system was installed that spin the missile a few seconds before the booster separates from the warhead on the re-entry stage. This system makes the re-entry more stable and the accuracy increases considerably. The Ghauri-II missile can be equipped with a GPS, making the accuracy even higher. The missile usually carries a 1,200kg HE warhead, although it can also carry a lighter warhead (also HE), weighing 750kg, which allows a greater range for the missile. This weapon can be armed with a 250kg weight nuclear warhead with a yield of 15 to 30kt if necessary.
