TOS-1 BURATINO

In the 1980s the Soviet Army requested a heavy multiple rocket launcher with which to attack buildings, fortified positions and caves. The state company KBTM (Omsktransmash) designed a system made up of the rockets, launch vehicle and loading vehicle which it designated as “TOS-1 Buratino”. This vehicle was designed to accompany infantry and tanks during the attack, so the range of its rockets were not as great as that of other similar systems.
