PEREH anti-tank missile carrier

In the summer of 2015, the the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the existence of a weird vehicle called “Pereh”, translated as “Onagr”, that is a type of wild donkey or an ancient Roman catapult. At first glance, this vehicle had the complete appearance of an M-48A5 Magach 5 main battle tank, but it was actually a tank destroyer, or anti-tank missile carrier in its modern terminology, disguised as a tank to conceal its true mission. This vehicle was equipped with a retractable 12-cell missile launcher for Tamuz / Spike NLOS missiles on the rear of the turret, which went unnoticed by any untrained observer. The Pereh was in service from the mid-1980s until 2017.
