Enasa-Pegaso BLR-3545

The BLR-3545, or Blindado Ligero de Ruedas, (Light Wheeled Armoured vehicle), is a development of the BMR-600 armoured personnel carrier from the Spanish ENASA-PEGASO company. This model entered service in 1980 and was designed for patrolling bases, surveillance and internal security tasks. The BLR is protected against small arms fire and artillery shell splinters and has automatic extinguishers for the engine and wheels. The vehicle was wearing anti-bullet tires and a pusher blade could be mounted on the front to remove barricades. It was used by units of the Spanish Marines, the Air Force and the Civil Guard in surveillance and patrol missions. It was sold to Ecuador to be used in Police and public order tasks. They were removed from service with the Spanish units at beginning of 2000.
