BTR-80A

The BTR.80A infantry fighting vehicle is an armed version of the BTR.80 8×8 APC, widely used by the Russian army and almost 40 countries around the world. The vehicle is armed with the 30mm 2A72 gun, and with this improvement it has been achieved a reduced cost IFV, increasing the combat capacity of the carried troops. This series began in 1994, and production has been limited, being in service in a few countries. Different versions have been built, as the BTR-80S for internal security tasks, the BTR-80AK command vehicle, the BRDM-3 for reconnaisance missions, and the BTR-82 APC that has covered the gap until the arrival of the more powerful Bumerang APC.
