The design of the Hatf-1 is greatly inspired by the French Eridan rocket of the late 60s. The Hatf-1 was the first surface-to-surface missile built entirely in Pakistan, which since then continues with the development of more sophisticated and capable missiles.

Possibly its appearance is rather simple and outdated, but this type of weapons can inflict serious damage if hits a building or a vehicle. However, above all, causes a lot of panic among the troops because is not easy to know  where they can fall after the launching.
