HYUGA class
The Hyuga class of helicopter carriers, were the largest ships built in Japan from WWII until 2010. They are called “helicopter-destroyer” by the Japanese Navy, although they are very similar in dimensions and displacement to the light aircraft carriers of some European navies. This designation applies more for political than military reasons. The main task for the Hyuga class is the submarine hunting, for which they could operate up to 18 helicopters, and they could operate perfectly with V-STOL aircrafts. They can exercise as Flagships and carry out command and control missions, as well to perform evacuations and search and rescue missions in emergency situations after natural disasters.
