R-36M2 / RS-20V Voevoda (SS-18 Mod 5-6 SATAN)

The two R-36M2/RS-20V Voevoda (SS-18 Mod 5 and SS-18 Mod 6) variants belong to the R-36M ICBM missile family (NATO codename SS-18 Satan), but had so many modifications and improvements that they can be considered a new class rather than a simple update. These missiles are much more accurate and resistant to the effects of nuclear explosions and with their modernized warheads and a new improved launch system they have remained the most effective missiles in the Russian arsenal until today, when they are beginning to be replaced by the new RS-28 Sarmat ICBM missile.
