Boneschi MAV-5 / VM-90P

The MAV-5 / VM-90P is a light armored vehicle developed by Boneschi Srl and Iveco Defense company from Italy. This vehicle is basically an 4×4 Iveco 40.10 light utility truck with an armoured body resistant to small arms fire and shell splinters. The protection consists of 6mm ballistic steel plates on the vehicle’s sides, front and rear, and 2 and 3mm plates on both the roof and the floor. MAV-5 is a vehicle suitable for surveillance missions and use in low intensity conflicts and peacekeeping missions. The Italian Army has used them in their peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Somalia or Bosnia. Light machine guns can be installed on the roof, and the vehicle has capacity to carry 4 troops and 2 crewmen. The vehicle lacks of NBC protection although it has an anti-tear gas filtration system and an automatic fire suppressor system.
