Bandvagen BV-202 SNOWCAT
The Bandvagen Bv-202 “Snowcat” went into production in 1961 and was delivered to the Swedish army a little later. It was manufactured by a subsidiary of Volvo company and was a real success due to its exceptional mobility in rugged and mountainous terrain. The “Snowcat”, as it was nicknamed, was not armored and they were very light for an articulated system formed by two vehicles. The front vehicle was a tracked tractor which contained the engine and the driving position, and the rear vehicle was a transport trailer, capable of carrying 1 ton cargo or 10 equipped soldiers. Currently the vehicle has been removed from military units although some examples can still be seen with civilian companies.
