IRON DOME

The Iron Dome short-medium range air defense missile is one of the basic pillars of Israel’s ground based air defense. The Israeli defensive network consists of several defensive rings formed by Arrow 3 missiles (1,100 km range) and Arrow 2 (500 km range) for defense against long-range missiles, David’s Sling missiles (280 km range) for defense against mid-range missiles and Iron Dome missiles for defense against short and medium range rockets and artillery shells (5-70 km range). The Iron Dome is a Counter rocket, artillery, and mortar (C-RAM) or counter-RAM system ideal against the unpredictable and constant rockets attacks launched from the Gaza Strip and from the Southern Lebanon against Israeli targets.
