IAI SEARCHER II

The IAI Searcher is a reconnaissance UAV manufactured in Israel and in service in more than a dozen countries, including Russia, that produces them under license. It is an advanced system developed to replace former models such as IAI Scout and the IMI Mastiff, considered as the first modern military UAV. The Searcher can be controlled from a control station from 250 km maximum distance, and has an autonomy of about 18 hours thanks to its 140 liter capacity fuel tank. It is controlled by 3 operators, who are the mission chief, the observer and the pilot. It is estimated that the cost of 4 aircraft plus the control station, a portable data link and a remote video terminal is over 14 million euros, which gives an idea of the so much technologically advanced that is this system.
