DF-11A / CSS-7 II

The DF-11A / CSS-7 II is a short-range tactical ballistic missile based on the DF-11 system. It was put into service in 1993 with improved capabilities in terms of range, about 600 km, and accuracy, with an estimated CEP of around 200m. The warhead has been reduced by 300kg to accommodate more solid fuel and have greater range than former DF-11 missile. The preparation time for launch is estimated between 15 and 30 minutes only, thanks to the use of solid fuel. The 8×8 transporter erector launcher (TEL) vehicle is a Wanshan WS.2400 model, widely used in the Chinese Army. It is estimated that between 500 and 600 DF-11 launchers of all versions are currently in service.
