Denel ROOIVALK (AH-2 / CSH-2)

In 1984, Atlas Aircraft Corporation began development of an attack helicopter for the South African Air Force (SAAF). The new helicopter was designed taking into account the special characteristics of the enemies of South Africa such as the communist guerrillas of Angola and Namibia and the harsh environment in which it would operate. After constant delays, mainly due to lack of funds, in 1999 the CSH-2 Rooivalk entered service, a modern helicopter on the same level as the T-129 Atak, A-129 Mangusta even the Eurocopter Tiger.
