BPB 60 feet-type class

The BPB 60 feet-type class motor torpedo boat were built by the British Power Boat Company and were based on the former BPB 63 feet-type class rescue boats for the Royal Air Force Marine Branch. This BPB 60 feet ships had a reduced length to only 18m (60 feet), and they had three gasoline engines that allowed them to reach 33 knots. The main armament was composed by two 457mm torpedoes, completed with light machine guns. Eighteen units were built and entered service after 1936, losing twelve boats during WWII. There is a restored example exhibited at the Imperial War Museum Duxford with numeral 71, and that it was a unit initially ordered by the Norwegian Navy.
