Berliet GBC-8 KB 6×6 (prototype)

The Berliet GBC.8 KB 6×6 armored truck was designed by the French Lorraine company as replacement for the M.8 and M.20 American armoured cars in use with the French army in the 50s. In June of 1960 a prototype constructed by the STA, (Military Technical Section) was presented with the idea of using it in the counter insurgency Algerian operations at a time when conflicts were intensifying. It would have mounted a 125hp MDU-25MK engine as well as a heavy machine gun as main weapon. Finally the project was abandoned due to issues of financial priority.
