A-06 YSABEL

After the withdrawal of the logistics transport ships A-04 Martin Posadillo and A-05 El Camino Español in 2019 and 2020 respectively, the Spanish Army was left without the ability to move contingents of troops autonomously to the Spanish territories of North Africa, Canary and Balearic Islands. Urgently, the search for a ship to reverse this situation began, leading to the purchase in November 2020 of the ship “Galicia” from the Spanish shipping company Suardiaz. During her career, this ship initially carried out ferry services from the Port of Vigo to Saint-Nazaire and from 2017 onwards to Tangier in Morocco. In June 2021 the ship was registered with the Spanish Navy and is based in Cartagena, Murcia.
