Enaer T-35 PILLÁN

The ENAER T-35 Pillán arose from a requirement of the Chilean Air Force for a basic training aircraft with high maneuverability. The ENAER company had assembled a batch of 27 Piper PA-28 Dakota for civil flight clubs and it was then when it was decided to request a military model from Piper. Thus was born the Piper PA-28R-300, based on the Piper Saratoga but with a 300 hp Lycoming engine. The prototypes were built in 1981 and the first examples were delivered to the Chilean Air Force in 1985. Sixty primary training T-35A and 20 instrument training T-35B were delivered to Chile. They had been exported to several countries in South and Central America, and to Spain in the T-35C version, which was designated as E-26 Tamiz.
