The VC-10 C1 was built by completing the RAF Specification 239 for a strategic transport. In addition to passenger transport, the aircraft was used for medical evacuations and VIP transport. The British Royal family and several British Prime Ministers were users of this model.The VC-10 C1 managed to greatly shorten the duration of the flights to the most remote British overseas territories and was able to go around the world nonstop in less than 48 hours. This aircraft could perform non-stop missions with the addition of a second crew to cover the rest shifts.
