Israel manufactured its own ammunition for captured 240mm rocket launchers as Soviet ammunition lacked the qualities required by the Israeli Army. The new rockets had solid propellant and a new warhead that disseminated 12,000 pieces of shrapnel over an area of about 12,000 m2.This MAR-240 belongs to the Latrum Museum’s collection in Israel. The firepower of the vehicle was huge and was especially effective against concentrations of troops and was capable of stopping massive attacks in open terrain such in the desert.
