All six Charlie II class second-generation nuclear submarines were assigned to the Northern Fleet although occasionally they were deployed in Mediterranean waters.The numerals of the Charlie II class SSGN were: K-209, K-452, K-458, K-479, K-503 and K-508 and they were all built in the Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyards, Gorkiy.
