BLOCKBUSTER 8000 pounds gallery

Two parts of 4,000 pound bombs were joined to make up the 8,000 pound Blockbuster. This bomb was nicknamed “super cookie” and had its premiere on March 10, 1942 in the bombing of Essen, Germany.

The name “Blockbuster” was created by the press when they verified the power that these bombs had to destroy buildings, even entire streets. The effect of these bombs on the morale of the German population was terrifying.
