AEC MILITANT Mk.3 gallery

The basic vehicle used for the AEC Militant Mk.3 was a 10 tonnes cargo chassis for a maximum weight of 28 tonnes. A 226 hp engine and a six-speed box were installed together with an assisted steering system.
This example belongs to the Duxford Museum, England, and continued to provide useful services in 2005.
The AEC Militant Mk.3 medium recovery vehicle formed along the Leyland Martian heavy recovery and Bedford RL light recovery, the non-armored recovery teams of British Army.
All recovery equipment was installed by Scammell company. The hydraulic crane was from Coles and the winch was from Scammell, the same as in the Explorer and Constructor models.
